For a while now, I have been looking at buying clothes in the long-term
and see them more as investment pieces that I will wear year after year.
This is the reason I started the 100 - a guide to help me narrow down
what I have and what I need. I find that coming up with some sort of plan
helps me narrow down what I really want and avoid those impulse buys.
So I have come up with my own Fall Lookbook that will be used as
my shopping guide this Fall. In later posts, expect me to create
some of these outfits piece by piece.

This fall, I will be wearing a lot of comfy outfits that will entail dressing up
sweatshirts. Oversized scarves will give basic outfits an edge. I will be wearing
a lot of cashmere sweaters and ethnic sweaters with leggings and ankle booties.

My boyfriend jeans will be on a hard rotation. Bright skinnies will dress up basic sweaters.
Military jackets will be layered over sweaters. Tweed jackets and blazers will be
paired with denim to dress them down. And vests, fur or otherwise,
will be layered over basics to dress them up a bit. I am all about the layers
as I tend to be cold all the time.

I am already looking forward to the start of my favorite time of the year.
Not only is it my favorite time for fashion, but I always look forward
to all the family gatherings we have coming up.

Where did you find the gorgeous sweater that states ethnic inspired?!??!?!
ReplyDeleteIt is from Zara.
DeleteAgh It's time to start pinning! I love love love those belted ethnic sweaters. I'm all about sweatshirts this fall/winter too!!! And the vests...and everything! Off to pinterest! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOversized scarves are a must. It doesn't really get cold enough in Monterey for jackets, but light sweaters and scraves get us through every season. Love your lookbook!
ReplyDeleteThis is cool. I think I will do something similar.

This is such a good idea to have a plan! I am the *WORST* about impulse buying...and then I usually end up not caring about the piece in a couple of months )c: It's so much better to invest in something quality that will carry you through not only the seasons, but *years*! I just adjusted my wants list to include a couple of these...especially those awesome ethnic prints! YES!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for Fall to get here already - I miss my cozy cardigans, tights, boots, and over-sized scarves!
